HILARY FOX


 Hilary Fox, hailing from the artistic landscape of Aotearoa, embarked on her creative journey with a solidfoundation, holding a certificate in Fine Arts from ELAM University Auckland and a Diploma in Photography.


A distinctive feature of Hilary's work revolves around challenging societal norms and pushing boundaries. Her main body of work delves into the provocative realm of masculinity, showcasing paintings of the penis adorned with on-the-nose reviews and star ratings. In doing so, Hilary  confronts conventional norms, sparking conversations about societal expectations and the boundaries of acceptability in art and the notion that it is only acceptable to portray the female form, dismantling taboos surrounding the representation of male anatomy.


In addition to her daring explorations of societal norms, her mixed-media works serve as a canvas for self-expression, inviting viewers to journey into the complexities of human emotion. Each piece is a narrative, a visual symphony of emotions that captivates and invites viewers into a world of introspection.

Beyond her solo endeavors, Hilary Fox has made significant contributions to the art world as the Artist Assistant to the iconic Peaches. Serving as a vital member of Peaches' team, Hilary played a role in bringing the musician and artist's vision to life during her 20-year anniversary tour. Her responsibilities as a personal assistant and costume manager showcased her ability to seamlessly integrate creativity and organization.

Notable events marked by Hilary's collaboration with Peaches include the opening and closing of 'Art in a Day' in Copenhagen in 2023, as well as headlining MonaFoma in Australia in 2024. These experiences have not only solidified Hilary's reputation as a versatile artist but also underscored her capacity to contribute to large-scale, impactful artistic productions.
